Understated Kitchen Design

Di, Cambridgeshire

The brief was to create an understated and robust Modern English Kitchen.

We specified tough materials, including a polymeric cabinet door with a uniquely moulded j-groove to allow ease of opening. All wall and tall kitchen cabinets were made bespoke and propagated to the ceiling. Interacting in minimal contrast, our colours were kept muted but refreshing enough to refract light from the garden and effortlessly merge with the rest of the house.

We specified solid quartz work-surfaces with upstands above floor cabinets and along the window cills while panes of toughened glass have been painted in a bright colour and laid across all walls in order to further bounce light around. The client selected an almost impervious and curvaceous undermounted ceramic sink by Villeroy & Boch.

The induction hob and double-oven are by De Dietrich and the retractable canopy extractor is by Neff.
