Industrial Kitchens

Naftalin, London

The brief was to nest a kitchen with a professional look and feel within an open plan living area. The design was mainly focused on eluding the pillar that remained at the centre of the room, following the initial industrial kitchen extension. It was also necessary to capture as much light from the garden as possible to make the kitchen a relaxing area to work in by day.

The pillar and island are wrapped in soft-grey thick Corian with panels projected to meet the floor.

Highly reflective white acrylic kitchen cabinet doors were specified for their hard-wearing, repairable and glasslike luminescent characteristics. White furniture, black and grey accents and steel plinths together make this kitchen chic but industrial.

The tall proponents of the kitchen including larder, double-oven and fridge-freezer housings are opened using steel recessed handles.
